On-site registration
You can pick up your badges before and during the conference inside the Reception part of CWI. The badges will be required at the conference dinner.
Lunches
Standing lunches will take place in two parts of the building to avoid overcrowding – in the foyer (the Entrance part of the Congress Centre, with Turing and Euler rooms) + in the Newton room, and in the forum (the triangle space in front of the L016 and L017 rooms). If the weather is nice we also encourage to eat in front of the entrance.
Women+ lunch on Wednesday
We strive to create a space that is safe and inclusive towards women and minority groups. On Wednesday at 12:30, in room L017, there will be the opportunity to chat, connect and have lunch with other women in computer science. This is organised as an extension of CWI’s women+ lunches, which take place here on a bi-weekly basis.
The term women+ reflects the fact that while women are centred in this event, people of all genders are welcome to join.
Welcome Reception
Reception will be organized on Monday evening in foyer (the Entrance to the Congress Centre), and since the weather forecasts predict good weather for that day, we will also use the outside space in front of the entrance.
Conference Dinner
Conference dinner will be organized on Tuesday evening at Hotel Casa Amsterdam.
The plan is walk to dinner as one big group. We will gather in front of CWI and leave for Hotel Casa at 18:00. The walk takes around 40 minutes. At the time of writing, the weather is predicted to be 24°C without any rain. We will be with a lot of people, so please be mindful of the other traffic (especially cyclists), stop for traffic lights etc. If you wish to join us, look out for an organiser carrying a sign with “Walking”.
For those who do not want to travel on foot, we will have a small group travelling by bus under the guidance of an organiser. They will take bus 40 from CWI to Amsterdam Amstel Station. From there it is a 7 minute walk to the hotel. If you wish to take the bus, look out for an organiser carrying a sign with “Bus”. Moreover, please make sure in advance you have a valid card/ticket (see Local Info) and don’t forget to check in and out.
Of course you are also free to travel there by yourself, and take a taxi/Uber/Bolt for example. Please note that we are expected to arrive around 19:00.
Do not forget to bring your conference badge if you are a conference participant.
